Register of Refocussing Theory and Therapist teachers and facilitators

The Refocussing practice of Dr Divett is committed to safe practice at all times. Therefore a register of authorised  teachers, facilitators and supervised counsellors is maintained. Those claiming to be Refocussing counsellors, life coaches, spiritual directors and so on can  be verified by an e-mail check by contacting us. Therefore, any Web-sites using the name Refocussing that are not listed as links are not part of Dr Divett’s Refocussing theory or practice and therefore no responsibility is taken for such teaching or practices.

An authentic Refocussing facilitator /teacher/trainer /lecturer/counsellor requires a permission, verification and supervision  certificate written, updated and signed by Dr Divett every 2 years.  This maintains the supervisory and ethical responsibility Dr Divett and the Refocussing charitable Trust (established in 1997) has for people’s safety and care. This also prevents distortion and misrepresentation of Refocussing by untrained, unprofessional, or unethical people, who may be misrepresenting Dr Divett and what Refocussing is, without proper University supervised research.  Ongoing research of Refocussing is encouraged at University supervised level in order to evaluate the ongoing effectiveness of Refocussing. Any person/s or organisations who claim to be teaching or acting as Refocussing supervisors and/or therapists/ teachers, counsellors etc, can be  easily verifiable by Dr Divett and the Refocussing Trust by contacting us.

If Refocussing teaching, training, counselling, or supervision is offered by anyone in any country, who does not provide you with a signed certificate of practice, valid since 2007 -2009; renewable every 2 years; then for safety and ethical reasons we strongly urge you to contact us to discuss their position before engaging their services. Accordingly, for the reasons already noted, the following disclaimer is provided : If anyone claims to be offering Refocussing that uses Dr Diane Divett’s name, teaching, training pastoral materials, or psychological activities, including the self awareness programmes;  then Dr Divett and the Refocussing charitable Trust accepts no responsibility of any kind for damages or allegations that arise from any person/persons/organisations that have allegedly occurred or may arise in person/persons/ organisations functioning or well-being listed next, (though not limited to these)- psychological, spiritual, moral, ethical  social, relational, physical, or financial .
